Avalon walked into the tavern of the Blind Pig with her hood drawn up over her fine Elivish features. She kept her head down to hide her features even more as she walked to a table at the far end of the tavern. She seated herself as her ice blue eyes peered at the people in the tavern from the protection of her hood. She knew that she had to stay well hidden from certain people, people that would rather see her dead than draw the same air that they breathe. A barmaid walked up as Avalon placed a silver coin on the table and a note, which read "A pint of Ale." The barmaid returned quickly with her request and just as quickly disappeared into the crowd of people at the tavern. A lock of her honey brown colored hair tumbled from her hood. She calmly reached up and tucked it back behind her pointed ear. She remained seated in the shadowy corner of the tavern watching the people coming and going, sipping on her ale. Occasionally her hand would slip to the dagger that was strapped to her right thigh when a few of the locals got rather loud and rude from the amount of liquor they had drank. She allowed her mind to wander and sink deep into thought as the tavern continued it's hustle and bustle...
Avalon stood and decided to get another drink but did not want to wait for the barmaid. With her hood still drawn up she approached the bar. She walked with elegance and grace with every step her heeled boots made.
She passed a group of three pretty drunk male town locals. "Grace us with your company..." One of the drunks called out to her as she walked by. She continued her approach to the bar. She pulled back a bar stool and took a seat. She waved at the bar maid and motioned for another ale. As she settled into her seat one of the three men got brave and approached her. Sensing the man's approach her hand slid to the dagger at her hip. She knew if one of them got brave the other two will shortly follow.
"Hey lady didn't you hear my friend speaking to you...?" He slurred out as he approached. "That wasn't very nice..." His breath reeked of alcohol and a bit of anger showing in his voice. His hand came up and gripped her shoulder, yanking her back out of the bar stool rather quickly.
Her reflexes kicked in and as she fell back her hand came up to grab the drunken man by the collar and pull herself to her feet before she even hit the ground. Out of the corner of her eye she seen the other two men approach her. She swore under her breath and prayed they would back off. She twisted to see the first man swing at her, she ducked gracefully and turned out of the way. The second man rushed her then, his arm extended out to grab her, she came out of the turn suddenly and leaned back keeping her right out of reach. She watched the first two drunks twist to face her and didn't even notice the third that approached her from the side. He hit her before she even had a chance to defend herself. His hand striking her hard causing her to lose her footing and stumble backwards. Stumbling back she landed on the floor of the bar. She peered up at the men, her hood had fallen back a bit to show her fine elven features, her crystal blue eyes glaring at the men, her semi curled honey brown hair and her long pointed ears. She brought her hand up and touched her lip, as she drew her finger back she took quick not that the man had left a small cut on her lip.
The bigger of the three walked up to her and grabbed her tunic forcing her to stand. "Awe look guys she's an Elf..." A vile grin played across his lips as he pulled her closer to his face. "A very pretty one at that. She'll fetch a fair price if broken in, what do you say... Sell her to the half-orcs and earn a pretty penny..." He slurred out laughing with his friends.
Avalon didn't even try to struggle against the man. She just went limp as he clutched her tunic bringing her to her feet, he lifted her almost off the group as he pulled her closer to his face. Her right hand slid down to the dagger at her thigh as a twisted smile creeped to her lips.
"What are you smiling at?" A puzzled look flashed across the man's face.
Her voice sounded melodious, calm and clear. One word escaped her lips, "Nothing." She pulled her dagger out of his sheath with lightening fast reflexes and held it to the man's throat. "Now you will let me go." She demanded pressing the dagger into the soft flesh at his throat making sure she did not cut him. Shock over came the man and instantly his hand dropped from her tunic and he walked back over to his buddies. They all quickly exited the tavern.
Satisfied that they left Avalon adjusted her hood so that her features were once again hidden and stepped back over to the bar and got her ale. She sheathed her dagger and started to sip her ale. As she sat there her mind started wandering and she lost her self in thought. She knew that it wouldn't be long before the people of the town world find her suspicious and start asking questions. She took no mind to that now and continued to drink her ale.
