Plot Line:
A war has torn the fantasy world apart, leaving many of the creatures stranded in our world, somewhere around upstate New York. Some of these creatures never quite made it out of their old world and remain trapped on the other side, held captive by the Conquering forces. In this epic battle of the good Legendary creatures versus the evil villains, players may find themselves on one side of the fence, the other, or possibly trapped inbetween their newfound love for their old homeland and the new "real" world. Players are invited to recreate their favorite childhood characters from fairytales, myths, legends, ballets, novels, etc. and to indefinetly choose which side they support.
Will you be a fabled Refugee? Or perhaps one of the Conqueror's supporters?
Twisted Tales is an online, play by post, role playing game based on all the old folklore, fairy tales and myths we know and love. Set in dark times, far away from the worlds they once knew, stripped of all the things that once made them "fantastical", these characters live everyday lives amongst everyday people... But they are still far from ordinary. Picture: "Cinderella" meets "Sin City". Twisted Tales is based loosely upon the ideas of "Fables", a graphic novel by Bill Willingham, movies such as "Ever After", "Enchanted", plays like "Wicked", and any other fantasy, folk lore or fairytale story you may have heard as a child. We present the darker side of the fairy tale- the real side- where happy endings don't always come true. This is the story your momma and Disney didn't want you to see when your virgin eyes were still young and innocent.
Only you can decide the fate of the true end to this Fairytale.

Plot Line:
Once upon a midnight dreary, in a land not so far away lived young children with an active imaginations... or however such sayings go:
"Mommy," said one child as they walked their dog through the city park late one day. Clinging to her hand with eyes wide from fright, the child's innocent voice spoke aloud: "That woman looks just like the witch from the story last night!" A finger pointed, shakily, at the old woman sitting on a bench across the way, tossing little crumbs to the pidgeons that flocked to her presence. The young mother quickly swatted at the child's finger, giving a half-smile to the lady at the bench. "It's not nice to point," mother told her child with a quiet hiss in her voice.
"I'm sorry," the young woman said sweetly, exchanging one of those 'knowing' glances that parents tend to whenever speaking of their young. "You know.. children." The lady nodded with understanding as she simply threw out more breadcrumbs for the birds. "I understand," came the raspy voice with a cough. "These eyes are too old not to know a child's innocent mind." The ladies shared a laugh, while the child inched slowly away from the older lady, avoiding the beady gaze by hiding behind mommy.
"Don't be afraid," said the old woman as she stuck a knobby hand into her large, black purse. "Here, have a peppermint." In her hand, she held out a piece of candy wrapped in a shiny piece of foil out to the child. As all children are apt to do, this one darted out from behind mom and began to greedily unwrap the shiny prize. With a smile, the old lady sat back on the bench as sunken eyes looked up to the mother. "I knew little ones like that one once, when I lived in Germany..." Her voice trailed off with a sigh of rememberance for things past.
"Hanzel and Gretel... Nice children. They stayed for dinner once," she said as she watched the child extract the sweet from its wrappings. Looking up to the mother, she gave a pleasant, though wrinkled smile.
"Perhaps you would like to come for dinner? I make excellent gingerbread."
